The Flower Family . . . The matriarch of this outstanding cow family is Molly Brook Fascinator Flower, one of the breed's most recognized females. We are fortunate to have bred and worked with this fine individual and are blessed to have a her descendents in the herd today. We are currently milking fourth-generation descendents of Flower. They are proving that this family defines transmitting ability: generation after generation of Excellent, hard-working cows that last a lifetime. Over her lifetime, Flower produced 193,832 lbs. milk, 10,852 lbs. fat and 7,589 lbs. protein, with a daily production average of 52.1 lbs. milk, 2.9 lbs. fat and 2.0 lbs. protein. Flower has 46 registered daughters and six proven sons and offspring on every continent but Antarctica. Twenty-four of her milking daughters average 18,314 lbs. milk, 916 lbs. fat and 674 lbs. protein and are appraised Excellent or Very Good. Her contributions to the breed were acknowledged by fellow Jersey breeders in 2000 as she was named third in the Jersey Journal's Great Cow Contest. |
